ITINERARY
DAY ONE
After touching down in magical Siem Reap, we'll whisk you off to your design hotel in the heart of the city and leisurely spend the afternoon by the pool running through the basics of your camera. Come evening, we sample the culinary delights of our in-house chef to give you a taste of whats to come, then head out on a night-time tour to get your first feel of Cambodia.
DAY TWO/THREE
To kick-off our photography holiday, our next few sessions continue with how to handle your camera, including professional guidance on exposure, lens use and flash then let you loose to practice your new found skills. After a sumptuous dinner, we are up early to take advantage of the soft morning light, heading out for a sunrise shoot of Angkor Wat - a stunning 12th-century temple and the centrepiece of this ancient world. With some free time to explore other areas of Angkor, we return to kick back by the pool, take a spa or leaf through some books in the library. We round off the day with a group review over cocktails followed by some scrumptious Thai-Cambodian fusion cuisine.
DAY FOUR/FIVE
With all these new skills under our belt, it's time to take our knowledge out into the real world. We'll embark upon an excursion to the forest temples of Ta Prohm and Preah Khan, where silk cotton trees have grown into and out of the ruins, in the lush surroundings of thick jungle. With this unique backdrop, we commence the second half of your photography course: thinking creatively. You will learn professional techniques for developing strong ideas for shoots and how to approach and capture your subjects.
DAY SIX/SEVEN
After a morning spent reviewing images, we head north to Kbal Spien and Bantay Srei, where the gushing Stung river holds an intricate series of stone carvings, spending the day focusing on exploring the different genres of photography, such as landscape, still life, portraiture, documentary - even fashion. During this time, 1-on-1 sessions are scheduled to go over individual questions or issues and provide personal feedback.
DAY EIGHT/NINE
Free day to visit other temples such as Banteay Kdei or Neak Pean, do some shopping or simply kick back around the pool. The next morning, we head off to the local markets, before learning how to cook our very own Cambodian delicacies. To record our successes, we complete the day with a stunning food shoot, just like the pros.
DAY TEN
The final day is spent brainstorming, developing ideas and executing a final photo project based around the fabulous backdrop of Angkor. On completion, we charge our glasses and view our final work in the luscious gardens of the mansion, before enjoying a feast to round off our incredible photography tour of Cambodia.
